In my opinion, one of the reasons the Old Fashioned has endured so many changes in the international drinks scene over the decades, is that it’s infinitely riffable. (The other reason is it’s delicious). I’ve had many, many, Old Fashioned riffs and this one is my favorite.
It was invented by Theo Lieberman in 2011, and it makes perfect sense that the drink was created at Milk & Honey, the sadly defunct cocktail mecca in Manhattan. Have I been? No. Have I met Sasha Petraske? Also, no, but I was in the same room with him once 😑
McKittrick Old Fashioned
2oz (60ml) bonded bourbon
.5oz (15ml) PX sherry
2 dashes Bitterman’s Xocolatl Mole bitters
