Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will appear in court tomorrow to face a charge believed linked to asset declarations.

His lawyer, Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad, confirmed the 66‑year‑old Bera MP has been discharged from the National Heart Institute after undergoing a pacemaker procedure earlier this month, and is recovering well.

Ismail Sabri is scheduled to be charged under the MACC Act before Sessions Court judge Suzana Hussin at 9am.

He was initially set to face the charge on August 7, but proceedings were postponed after he was hospitalised a day earlier.

A pacemaker regulates irregular heartbeats by sending electrical impulses to the heart.

Ismail Sabri reportedly developed health problems while at the MACC headquarters before his earlier court date.
