Muslims are mandated to pray to Mecca five times a day. In order to practice their religion, it was a priority to be able to determine the ACTUAL direction to Mecca early on. A variety of means of doing so were developed from observing the direction of the sun from your location when the sun was directly over Mecca to spherical trigonometry (9th Century) to the Astrolabe.
As a result, and with the power of religious obligation, the fact that the earth is a sphere was confirmed centuries ago in the Islamic World. In this video we discuss how they did it and where it goes from here.
This video has been out for two weeks and not ONE flat earther has submitted his $20 and mathematics to correctly find the Qibla as directed in the video. As a result the contest is closed as of this date 11-19-21. Bob

Specify your bearing as true or magnetic. You must meet or beat the great circle distance and bearing on a flat earth map. You will be required to show your work, and you will have to do the same for a second destination of my choice.
