So is Sweatcoin Legit? A Scam? Or Worth It? “At first, I was hyped. Free gift cards, sweepstakes. I thought: finally, I found a cheat code in life! Just walk, earn coins, and boom—rewards. Easy money, right? Wrong. I actually managed to claim a gift card—something most YouTubers say is always out of stock. I felt like Indiana Jones finding the lost treasure. But instead of gold, I got… nothing.
Seriously. I got scammed. I got an email from Sweatcoin to claim my reward. It said to wait 7 bussiness days.
Seven business days later, no card. I emailed support. They ghosted me. I emailed again. Ghosted again.
And I know it was the right adress, because earlier, right when I started using the app I asked support if I can participate in sweepstakes if I live in Romania. They answered fast and told me I can.
I now realise why they told me that. Anyway, I wrote to the very same adress I got a response from and when it was about why I’m not getting my gift card they stopped answering, no matter how many emails I’ve sent them. UPDATE! While editing. They answered. They directed me to another adress and gave me generic answers every time. Soooo. I got scammed. But I was still in disbelief. And like any sane YouTuber, I kept it installed anyway, just to give it the benefit of the doubt. And while opening every menu in the app, I actually found where my code was, but it was too late. It already expired.
So I just kept the app installed and left it to just count steps. Five months later, I returned to the app, got enough points to claim a $5 gift card, kept opening the app to claim one, and managed to claim one.
Then, I pressed on my balance in the top right corner, pressed on the -5000 sweatcoins and here was my code. Turns out Sweatcoin is actually legit, but very dishonest. 1.Why didn’t support tell me where to look for the code? And second, why did Sweatcoin send me an e-mail to claim the gift card, tell me at the end of the form that it will arrive soon, if I can access the code right after I claim it? This is some very dishonest behaviour.
But hey, you Sweatcoin seems to be legit. You can use the codes from the app on the website Bitrefil to get some gift cards.
And as a side note, it seems that Sweatcoin has bettered their ways. The second time I claimed, I actually got an email with the code. Not like the first time I tried and received a form that got me nowhere.
And as for Sweat Wallet, it is more straight forward and not dishonest
Now, Sweat Wallet is different. It actually works. You can transfer coins, exchange them on Kucoin, and yes—you can cash out for real money. But here’s the punchline: after three months, I earned about 20 cents. That’s right—three months of walking, and I could barely buy a stick of gum.
So yeah, it’s legit… but the payout is really small. But still, I can’t expect more from an app that pays me for literally walking.
Also, I want to add something very important. Sweatcoin brands itself as paying you for walking. And while it is true, I claimed $5 in about 5 months without even touching the app, if you want to speed up the points, you have to watch a ton of ads. Sweatcoin uses the paying you for steps as a hook to determine you into watching ads and paying for premium. But if you refuse to watch ads, you can actually get paid and earn some small passive income from just letting the app installed in your phone. And it won’t acces your files or behave like a virus, because if you go into your settings, it is allowed only to read your physical activity. And it can run in the background if you let it. But that is up to you. I didn’t. I allowed Sweatcoin to just read my physical activity and that’s all.
I will keep it installed. It is a nice way to make some passive income. Sure, the amount is small, but the amount of effort I have to put into making those $5 is also insignificant. So it’s a good deal.
