Asthma and COPD are chronic lung diseases that can make it hard to breathe, but it can be difficult to know which is which. We asked pulmonologist Brooks Kuhn how to tell the difference. Dr. Kuhn says symptoms of both asthma and COPD are very similar and include shortness of breath, cough and fatigue. However, asthma can be triggered by specific situations, while COPD tends to be more persistent.
