Is Black Label Society evolving or are they sticking to the same formula? In this review, I break down Engines of Demolition (2026), the 12th studio album led by Zakk Wylde.

This album brings back the band’s signature mix of heavy groove metal, doom-laden riffs, and bluesy swagger, but with a renewed intensity influenced by Wylde’s time playing with Pantera. From crushing tracks like “Gatherer of Souls” to the emotional centerpiece “Ozzy’s Song,” this record balances raw power with heartfelt tribute—especially following the passing of Ozzy Osbourne.

But does it truly push the band forward… or just refine what they already do best?

I go track by track, break down the highs and lows, and give my final verdict.
