Iron Mountain is located near Tombstone Pass along Highway 20 east of Sweet Home, Oregon. The hike to the summit or Iron Mountain can be done as a short (4 mile) out and back or a longer 6.6 mile loop hike (with 1,900' of elevation gain) (this video) through the meadows at the base of Cone Peak. If you are a wildflower lover the best time to visit is June through the first of July. The view from the summit is simply stunning!
