Irelandscapes | Irish Lighthouse Histories, The Copeland Islands - Traditional Maritime Scenery @Irelandscapes | Uploaded March 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
The second in a series about Irish lighthouses, with Irish lights historian Peter Goulding. Here, he relays 350 years of maritime history connected by the lighthouses of the three Copeland Islands in the Irish Sea off the North Down coast. The locals in this film have provided some amazing detail, bringing the keepers and events back to life.
Thank you to Shirley Cochrane, Richard Neill James, Walker Simpson, William Angus and brothers Jody and Lewis Waterworth - all of Donaghadee, who work to preserve the culture, history and popularity of this traditional town.
