The Republic of Ireland Soccer team had to train in the sweltering heat of Orlando for their second match of the 1994 World Cup against Mexico.

Reporter Colm Murray visited the squad on 23 June 1994, the day before the match was due to take place at the Citrus Bowl. He talks to manager Jack Charlton about the challenges ahead of them in this RTÉ News report.

Charlton says the Mexicans are very fit and run all the time. There are a few things the Irish team will have to watch, but the main thing is getting through the heat in a 90-minute match.

An RTÉ News report broadcast 23 June 1994. The reporter is Colm Murray.
