Bridges are being constructed at longer lengths than in the past. The Texas Department of Transportation and the Center for Transportation Research studied the stability of long-span prestressed concrete girders during construction. Results were compiled to look at how loads would be distributed over a finished bridge, while examining how the location of diaphragms impact stability.
