This video is part of the "Introduction to Electronics: Filters" course, created to help beginners understand the principles and applications of electronic filters through hands-on projects. You will explore essential topics like RC and RL filters, cutoff frequency, phase shift, Bode plots, and how filters are used in audio, sensors, and power supplies. Learn more about the full course here: techexplorations.com/so/introduction-to-electronics-filters
In this video, we examine how an RC low-pass filter works to allow low-frequency signals through while attenuating high-frequency noise. You will learn how the resistor and capacitor interact to shape the frequency response of the signal, and how the circuit’s behavior can be explained using concepts like impedance, time constant, and voltage division. We also introduce the filter’s transfer function and explore its frequency response using Python code to plot the signal attenuation across a range of frequencies. This video provides both a practical and mathematical understanding of how RC low-pass filters function.
