Hello there! 😅 Me nervously introducing myself at LA Comic-Con 2021
Our moderator had the fun idea to introduce ourselves with our first cosplay, which really made me think: what WAS my first cosplay? Clark Kent was my first con costume in ‘06, though I wore Anakin to a midnight Ep. 3 DVD release in ‘05… but the first time I wore a homemade costume outside of Halloween was Obi-Wan Kenobi on opening night of Attack of the Clones alongside my fellow 16-year-olds Jeremy, Mike, Chris, & Tim, 20 years ago this May.
It was sooo shitty. My Jedi padawan braid was white yarn that I Sharpied black (cuz I couldn’t find black yarn) and hooked to my ear via a bent paper clip. All I could smell was that damn ink. 😝 But I was proud of it, and hey we all gotta start somewhere. 🤷🏻♂️
