Super Visible - The Story of the Women of Marvel Comics
simonandschuster.com/books/Super-Visible/Margaret-Stohl/9781982134617
Inspired by the hit podcast The Women of Marvel and cowritten by the #1 New York Times bestselling coauthor of Beautiful Creatures, this eye-opening and engaging book celebrates the women who have helped make Marvel one of the most successful comics and entertainment companies in the world.
What does a hero’s journey look like when the hero in question happens to be a girl? #1 New York Times bestselling author and Marvel creator Margaret Stohl (The Life of Captain Marvel, Black Widow: Forever Red) along with Judith Stephens (producer and cocreator of the Women of Marvel podcast), and Jeanine Schaefer (critically acclaimed editor) interviewed more than a hundred women and nonbinary Marvel contributors in search of the answer to that question.
With one shared goal—to make the historically invisible work of women visible—and with unprecedented access to Marvel creators, writers, and more, Stohl, Stephens, and Schaefer set out to tell the story of the women of the “House of Ideas” from 1939 through today, and along the way, to find the meaning of their own Marvel stories. Packed with biographies and illustrations from creators, graphical reprints and excerpts of historic Marvel comics, and exclusive interviews from acclaimed directors like Anna Boden and Cate Shortland; lauded writers such as Kelly Sue DeConnick, Eve Ewing, Rainbow Rowell, Nic Stone, G. Willow Wilson, Tini Howard, and Maurene Goo; top artists like Jen Bartel; and influential producer Sana Amanat, Super Visible: The Story of the Women of Marvel is an essential read for fans of all ages.

Who We Are - Avengers Initiative:
avengershq.com/sample-page/club-mission
Marvel Comic fans come from a wide spectrum of backgrounds, but no matter how diverse, or where they are located in the world, common bonds become evident when people come together to celebrate their passion for The legendary super hero Group known as the AVENGERS.
Many fans are happy to collect action figures…other fans want to become action figures. Nothing professes your fandom quite like building your own detailed costume replica of an AVENGERS character, and there’s nothing quite like the feeling that comes from bringing the characters of Marvel Comics into the real world and sharing the magic with others.
Avengers Initiative - Our Purpose:
Our organization was founded to basically provide a collective identity for costuming fans with similar interests, the AVENGERS INITIATIVE is proud to put its resources to good use through fundraising, charity work, and volunteerism.
The Avengers Initiative (hereafter referred to as “The Avengers” or “Initiative”) is a Marvel Comics fan club dedicated to celebrating the Marvel Universe through costuming. The Avengers is an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate.
The Avengers seeks to promote interest in Marvel Comics through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Marvel Comics-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work.
The Avengers recognizes it holds no claim over the costumes and characters it portrays. The members of the Avengers acknowledge and accept that while in costume, we represent the Marvel Entertainment brand and will do so professionally and responsibly at all times.

Legion members Linds Cepak, Dean Amstutz, Kevin Weir, David Neth, David Ancheta, Joe Lara, and Todd Mullin from the Imperial Sands and Southern California Garrisons will provide an overview of the creative process that brings Stormtroopers, Tusken Raiders, Boba Fett, or Kylo Ren from the silver screen into reality. They will discuss membership, from initial interest through final approval, and talk about the process for working with armor parts, small prop and soft costume construction, and 3D modeling and printing.

"...The 501st Legion is an international costuming organization dedicated to celebrating STAR WARS™ through the creation and use of quality costumes that portray the villainous, morally ambiguous, or non-partisan characters from the STAR WARS™ universe. The Legion promotes interest in STAR WARS and facilitates the use of these costumes for STAR WARS-related events as well as contributes to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work..."
To Promote Interest in Star Wars:
While a growing number of people are experiencing a reawakening of their Star Wars fandom, new generations are seeking ways to celebrate their passion for George Lucas's modern mythology. The 501st Legion brings these fans together, reinforcing the enduring longevity of the Star Wars saga.
To Facilitate the Use of Costumes:
Some fans are content to collect action figures...other fans want to be action figures. Nothing professes your passion quite like building your own detailed costume replica of a classic Star Wars villain, and there's nothing quite like the feeling that comes from bringing the characters of Star Wars into the real world and sharing the magic with others.
To Contribute:
While our organization was founded to simply provide a collective identity for costuming fans with similar interests, the 501st is proud to put its resources to good use through fundraising, charity work, and volunteering.

501st Legion APPEARANCES
PROMOTIONAL:
Businesses, including LFL licensees and partners, that wish to enlist the Legion's help for a Star Wars promotional event should first email Lucasfilm at fanevents@starwars.com to get approval for their ideas and guidance on how to work with the 501st Legion and the Star Wars brand.
CHARITY:
While we do not charge a fee for appearances (public or private), we enthusiastically welcome donations made to a charitable organization in the name of the 501st Legion.
COMMUNITY:
The 501st takes great pride in its charitable works and promotional appearances, but there are those occasions when fun and Community is still the primary call to action.

While the 501st was initially founded to unite costumers with a penchant for Star Wars villainy, one of our real-world missions is to bring good to our communities through volunteer charity work. The 501st is always looking for opportunities to brighten the lives of the less fortunate and to bring awareness to positive causes on both a local and global scale.

Yáamay: An Anthology of Feminine Perspectives Across Indigenous California
Yáamay: An Anthology of Feminine Perspectives Across Indigenous California is a collection of Indigenous poetry, artwork, and essays specific to what is now known as Southern California. The lead authors separated these pieces into the four natural parts of our story: Tówla (Root), Kúp (Sleep, Dormant), Wólnish (Cultivate), and $ó'a (Bloom), with each section exploring the eras of pre-contact, post-contact, present, and future.
Collectively, these pieces portray the multifarious effects of colonization on Indigenous people of this area, from the California Mission system, to the traumatic assimilationist policies that are still felt today. At the same time, a focus on ancestral teachings, the nostalgia of growing up on the rez, and the joys of (self)love and independence can be found in a way that defies these wounds.

Representation matters but comes with complications. Moderator Britton Payne (VP of business and legal affairs, Nickelodeon) details the sometimes-troubling history of autistic characters in comic books and how comics as a medium can foster a modern understanding of autism among its readership. Panelist Lorran Garrison (school psychologist, Little Brainstorm) will discuss the impact of pop culture representation of autism on both autistic and neurotypical kids. Panelist Bex Burgess (YA graphic novel Speak Up!) will also discuss their experiences as an autistic comic book creator and creating autistic comics that feature an autistic main character navigating her way through high school.

The Avengers Initiative Marvel Costume Group Mission:
Who the Avengers Initiative Are:
Marvel Comic fans come from a wide spectrum of backgrounds, but no matter how diverse, or where they are located in the world, common bonds become evident when people come together to celebrate their passion for The legendary super hero Group known as the AVENGERS.
Many fans are happy to collect action figures…other fans want to become action figures. Nothing professes your fandom quite like building your own detailed costume replica of an AVENGERS character, and there’s nothing quite like the feeling that comes from bringing the characters of Marvel Comics into the real world and sharing the magic with others.
The Avengers Initiative Marvel Costume Group Purpose:

About Todd Fahnestock:
Todd Fahnestock is the bestselling author of Khyven the Unkillable, Tower of the Four, Fairmist, and Wildmane.
He was born in Culver City, California, the middle child of a sign painter and a New Age mom. His father has a Herculean work ethic, and his mother is magic. She taught him that perspective changes a person’s world, which is why he writes stories about heroes and hope.
A true Gen Xer, Todd navigated his parents’ divorce and subsequent poverty when he was fourteen, leaping into a series of adventures that would shape him into a writer.
Jumping from job to job, he hitchhiked across the country. He has been a Price Club cashier in Long Beach, a video arcade attendant in Durango, and an investment banking Powerpoint operator in New York City. He has waited tables in Colorado Springs, hung safety cables for crack-inspection teams inside oil tankers in Portland, and helped raise millions of dollars for diabetes nonprofits in Denver.
While attending The Colorado College in 1993, Todd published his first two short stories in TSR’s Dragonlance anthologies. In 1997, he began writing with Giles Carwyn, published another couple of short stories and won the New York Books for the Teen Age award for True Love (Or the Many Brides of Prince Charming). In 2006, Todd and Giles began The Heartstone Trilogy under HarperCollins’ Eos imprint, completing it in 2008.
Later, Todd moved on to solo projects, and has since published over thirty novels. Tower of the Four: The Champions Academy and Khyven the Unkillable, two of his bestselling novels, also won the Colorado Authors League Award for Writing Excellence and became finalists for The Colorado Book Award.
His latest work, Tower of the Four: The Rise of Magic—the third in the Tower of the Four series—delves into the origins of magic… from the villain’s point of view.
Stories are his passion, but Todd’s greatest accomplishment is his quirky, fun-loving family. When he’s not writing, he travels the country meeting fans, talks philosophy with his son, plays board games with his wife, dissects movies with his daughter, and plays to the point of bruises with Galahad the Weimaraner.

About Ramen Sandwich Press:
ramensandwich.com
Ramen Sandwich Press was founded in 2016, when veteran RPG writer and developer Douglas Sun decided to start a series of location modules compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, called Places by the Way. In 2018, we added a parallel series of location modules for Pathfinder FRPG, called Found by the Way. For more about Douglas Sun, we host his blog about gaming and other nerdy things, "I Think We've Been Playing It Wrong." Just to humor him.
About the author Douglas Sun:
Douglas Sun has been, at various points in his adult life, a university English professor, a computer game producer, a newspaper book critic, a quiz show writer, a quiz show researcher, a quiz show contestant (his quietly humiliating defeat on Win Ben Stein's Money is no doubt archived somewhere) and a clerk in an eBay consignment store. Since the late 1990's, however, he has been a writer and game designer, working mostly in tabletop roleplaying games.
He has developed and/or authored over 30 tabletop roleplaying game products, many of which are available through Amazon Marketplace. They include books for Decipher's Star Trek and The Lord of the Rings roleplaying games and AEG's d20 mega-setting book, The World's Largest City. He was line developer of The Legend of the Five Rings Roleplaying Game, editing and co-writing all but one of the Third Edition supplements. One of the books that he developed, The Emerald Empire, was nominated for an Origins Award and remains one of the best-selling books in the game's long and prolific history.
He is currently writing adventure/location modules compatible and roleplaying game rules supplements compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition and Pathfinder, everything published by Ramen Sandwich Press. In his oh-so-copious free time, he blogs about games and other forms of geekery on Substack at "'I Think We've Been Playing It Wrong.'"

Julian David Stone Novels:
IT'S ALIVE!
The only thing harder than raising the dead, is making a movie about raising the dead.
In the summer of 1931, life was good for Junior Laemmle. Though only twenty-three years old, he was the head of all movie production for Universal Pictures, and under his reign, the studio flourished. So much so, he was about to be bestowed with the greatest honor a young executive can receive in Hollywood: a promotion to vice president of the entire company. What’s more, Carl Laemmle, his father and founder of the studio, was returning to California for the first time in years to personally present the honor to his son.
Or so Junior thought.
When his father arrives, Junior discovers that instead of being grateful for transforming and catapulting the out-of-date studio into the future, his father is obsessed with Junior’s next production: Frankenstein. Like the year before, Carl is fervently against making another grisly and gothic film, despite Dracula becoming a huge hit - a project which Junior fought for and personally oversaw through production. Also not helping Junior’s cause, though the film is just days away from beginning production, the final choice between Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff to play the role of the Monster, has yet to be made.
It’s Alive! is a thrilling and vibrant portrait of 1930s Hollywood centered around the chaotic and exciting days just before the filming of the beloved cult-classic film, Frankenstein. Woven with hopeful passion, emotional vulnerability, staunch determination, and creative fulfillment, readers will be swept along with breathless cinematic pace through events that will not only change the lives of everyone involved, but Hollywood itself.

Christmas, 1965. All is not well behind the walls of Graceland. Elvis Presley, the once undisputed king of Rock and Roll, finds himself on the verge of losing his crown to invaders from a faraway land. The Beatles, the Rolling Stones and a myriad of other younger, hipper bands have stolen the attention of the youth of America. Elvis, trapped in a prison of making bad movies and even worse music, watches as the cultural revolution he started is about to leave him far behind. But like the true King he is, Elvis is not about to go down without a fight. In an attempt to regain the cheers, the screams, the music and all that made Elvis ELVIS, he decides to drop acid.

About Julian David Stone:

Julian David Stone has always been a creative at heart. When he realized in the ’80s that being in a band wasn’t in his cards, he began smuggling his camera into concerts – adventures he later chronicled in his best-selling coffee table book No Cameras Allowed: My Career As An Outlaw Rock & Roll Photographer. He moved to Los Angeles in his 20s to study filmmaking and wrote screenplays for Disney, Paramount, Sony and MGM, as well as a full-length play (The Elvis Test) and several short-form documentaries on Frank Sinatra for Warner Bros. He is also the writer and director of the cult comedy feature film Follow the Bitch. His award-winning debut novel, The Strange Birth, Short Life, and Sudden Death of Justice Girl, centers on the world of ’50s live television and is currently being turned into a TV series. Sere from the Green

There is a race that lives among humans, unbeknownst to them, called shape shifters, those that can shift from human to animal at will. Many protect the innocent on Earth and act as the eyes and ears of the guardians, divine beings similar to gods in ancient myths.
Isis is a woman who lives a normal life until the day she photographs a murder scene for her job. When the body disappears from her photographs, Isis is determined to solve the mystery. Her investigation uncovers answers about her own past and sets her on a journey that will change her life forever.
Through Storm and Night
laurenjankowski.com/book/through-storm-and-night
The Meadows is home to the guardians, a race of beings similar to the deities in ancient mythology. They watch over the Earth from their serene lands, keeping everything in check. For millennia, it has been peaceful. However, in the beginning, there was a great war. A war with Chaos, a war that is still remembered in the legends of the guardians and shape shifters.
Months have passed since Isis, a shape shifter/guardian hybrid and member of the prophesied Four, narrowly escaped from the Obsidian Manor. The Four still haven’t found answers about the mysterious Coop and their search for the Key has yielded nothing but more questions. When an old alliance is reforged, the Four are thrown into another mystery. Who are the strange shape shifters known only as the “glowing-eyes” and what is their connection to the odd symbol and vanishing bodies?

About Author Lauren Jankowski
laurenjankowski.com/about
Lauren Jankowski, an openly aromantic asexual, adoptee, feminist author from Illinois, has been an avid reader for most of her life. She holds a degree in Women and Genders Studies from Beloit College. In 2015, she founded “Asexual Artists,” a site dedicated to highlighting the contributions of asexual identifying individuals to the arts. To date, she has interviewed over 900 artists.
She has been writing fiction since high school, when she noticed a lack of strong women, particularly queer women and women from non-traditional families, in the popular genre books. When she’s not writing or researching, she enjoys reading (particularly anything relating to ancient myths), playing with her pets, watching ballets, or working on her next cosplay. She hopes to bring more strong heroines to literature, including badass asexual women. As an adoptee, she also hopes to bring more accurate and positive portrayals of non-traditional families to genre.
Her ongoing series, The Shape Shifter Chronicles, is published through Crimson Fox Publishing. Signed paperbacks of the series can be purchased via Lauren’s Square Marketplace or the Crimson Fox Online Store. The books can also be purchased in ebook or paperback format through all major retailers.
Keep up with Lauren on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter! You can also buy her a coffee on Ko-Fi 🙂 Thank you for the support.
A Message from Lauren:
I’ve always been a writer. There’s just something about a well-written book that has always appealed to me. I’ve always been very imaginative and naturally gravitated towards the fantasy genre (though I had a love of all things horror and Science Fiction as well). However, the more fantasy I devoured, the more I was struck by the absence of tough warrior women (or even women in general).
So I set out to create a fantasy novel that featured strong women, who weren’t defined by men. One turned into two, which then turned into five. Now I just can’t seem to stop writing. It’s what I do and who I am.

After some encouragement, she dove down the writing rabbit hole, creating magical worlds, snarky heroines, and sexy heroes with a dash of "cinnamon roll".
When not telling tales, Cynthia is a geek, a costumer, and an amateur artist. She resides in sunny San Diego, California with her husband Max, two cats of varying intelligence, and a ton of goldfish.

An Impractical Guide to Satyr Charming
cynthiadiamondauthor.com/impracticalguide
With her magic stolen, Ivy Bennett is a witch doomed to die. But she isn’t giving up without a fight. One ritual could restore her power, all she needs is a little elbow grease and an abandoned house in the woods. Unfortunately, the home’s current resident -an arrogant satyr named Finn- will not tolerate a witch in his territory. Ivy will be damned if the goat-legged jerk gets in her way. If only he wasn’t as sexy as he is infuriating. Charming a satyr isn't at the top of Ivy's do-to-list, but it's either come to a truce with the insufferable male or knock on death’s door.
After witnessing the slaughter of his herd, Finn’s sole purpose is to protect his brother and his lands from deadly witches. But when one moves in, his fury rises. While the need to drive the witch away is strong, his desire for her is stronger. Soon he finds himself wanting the lovely, stubborn female more than hating her. But keeping Ivy as his own would forfeit everything he’s held sacred. And now her presence has attracted something in the forest... Something that may destroy them all.

Escape into Myth, Magic, and Mayhem
I’ve been a fantasy reader for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved joining extraordinary adventures in the written word, imagining myself alongside heroic men and women, fighters and warriors who strive to improve the world, or at least kill the bad guy. Ensconced in the safety of my bedroom, I explored strange lands with dangerous creatures. It was an addiction I was happy to accommodate, especially when my mom wanted me to do my chores.
Despite my voracious book appetite, I didn’t start creative writing until I was working as a number cruncher in a big accounting firm. With an hour plus commute by train every day, and a demanding left-brain occupation, I needed a mobile creative outlet. A pen and paper are about as mobile as it gets! As the pages began to fill, I quickly moved onto a tiny laptop, and a writer was born.
I wrote for several years during that commute, learning my craft and striving to become a published author. However, with a background in business and a desire to run my own business, I quickly realized I wanted to pursue the independent life of the self-published author. After completing several manuscripts that didn’t quite live up to my own expectations, I at last felt ready to publish my debut novel in Sanyare: The Last Descendant. The book would eventually go on to win a Readers’ Favorite Bronze award in Adventure Fiction and became an IAN Book of the Year Award Finalist. Needless to say, I was hooked.
Fast forward a few more years and I partnered up with USA Today Bestselling Author Greta Boris to co-found The Author Wheel. Together, we write non-fiction books for writers, teach courses online and in-person, blog, and otherwise try to help writers become authors and keep their stories rolling. If you’re a writer trying to navigate the writing and publishing world, please consider joining our community!
Nowadays, I'm a stay-at-home-mom who prefers a good story and a hot cup of coffee over doing the dishes. I live in Southern California with my wonderfully supportive husband, two daughters, and a ridiculously energetic dog.
Join me, and let’s fight some bad guys together.

Blood of Zeus Series
angelpayne.com/portfolio/blood-of-zeus
An ancient grudge. A forbidden love.
The only thing worse than being a demon is being a Valari. As an undergraduate at Los Angeles’s Alameda University, Kara Valari can sometimes succeed at forgetting she’s both. Lost between the pages of the classics and tucked into the shadows of lecture halls, she can dodge the paparazzi’s lenses as well as her family’s publicized dramas – not to mention their private expectations. She has one more year to feed her true passions. Then she’ll be expected to fulfill a much darker destiny.
Cursed with inexplicable strength and godlike stature, literature professor Maximus Kane knows all about darkness. Every day he’s reminded of the missteps of his childhood and the devastating consequences they’ve had on those dearest to him. To atone, Maximus spends his nights alone and his days submerged in the quiet life of academia. His existence has become a study in control, and he’s become a master at it – until Kara Valari walks into his toughest course.
Viscerally, Kara’s everything he craves. Logically, she’s everything he rejects. She’s a starlet of privilege. She’s also a student. And after one touch, he can’t deny that she’s awakened something in him that may never go dormant. Nothing about her makes sense, but everything about her feels right. Especially in the deepest strands of his DNA, which are still shadows of mystery to him – a mystery Kara seems determined to uncover.
She’s Hollywood royalty. She’s forbidden fruit. And he’s pretty sure she could be the answer to everything.

We Are Stone Harbor Comics!
An indie comic book company driven to provide new and engaging science fiction stories that champion diversity for the current and next generation!
STONE HARBOR COMICS PURPOSE:
A shift is happening in the entertainment industry. People from all walks of life demand representation in the content they consume. It's a battle cry that we can no longer ignore. The arrival of Black Panther and Shang-Chi is proof of this. However, there is still much work to be done, especially in the science fiction space. These exuberant stories of amazement and wonder have historically targeted a particular group, thus excluding people of color. The purpose of Stone Harbor Comics is to place a more diverse group of characters in the captains' chair of their own spectacular folklores for the next generation to enjoy.
The Comic Books of STONE HARBOR COMICS:
The Stone Harbor Comics Universe:
All three of our series occur in the same near-future of a new/altered version of the city of Los Angeles, where technology has advanced to where artificial heart transplants are standard practice, new age of neurotechnology is transpiring, and genetically enhanced super soldiers exist. The government and corporations are in an unprecedented technological arms race to discover new ways to improve people's lives and protect our country, that will, in turn, make them lots of money. But will the ends justify the means?
Legend of Althea Series
stoneharborcomics.com/products/legend-of-althea-sci-fi-teen-comic-book
Legend of Althea is a sci-fi/coming of age story about a teenage girl named Althea who receives the ability to heal people following an artificial heart transplant. After her dad succumbs to an unknown terminal illness, Althea must learn to harness her new powers to save her dad before his time runs out. But when The Wolf Pack, a notorious street gang, learns of her abilities, they seek to use Althea for their own selfish agenda. As if trying to finish high school wasn’t hard enough!
BioPunks Series
stoneharborcomics.com/products/biopunks-vol-1-sci-fi-action-comic-book
BioPunks is a sci-fi/action story about three physically altered subjects who gain special powers from an experimental procedure meant to cure them. Now they must band together to fight off a relentless force who seeks to harness the source of their power, The Spinal Core.
OUTCASTS
stoneharborcomics.com/pages/about
OUTCASTS is a gritty sci-fi/action story about Aaron, a former super-soldier afflicted with chronic asthma, who is cast out of the covert government program that created him. Armed with his specialized Battlehaler, Aaron takes to the streets as a vigilante, seeking redemption. His quest for reinstatement leads him to uncover a deep-rooted conspiracy that threatens to unravel the very fabric of his society.
ABOUT THE CREATOR Royce Adkins:
Royce Adkins is a filmmaker, comic book author, and all-around sci-fi head. At a young age, Royce was compelled to tell his own stories when he realized there was a need for more representation in the films he watched and the comics he read. There weren't enough characters who looked like him, especially in the science fiction space. Now being a father, Royce wants to help ensure his kids will have access to stories where they feel included.
Refusing to wait on Hollywood to accomplish this goal, Royce turned to the comic book community where he has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback and support after launching his first two comic book series, BioPunks and Legend of Althea under his comic book company, Stone Harbor Comics. Now with his third series, OUTCASTS, coming soon Royce aims to take that support even further with a mission to tell a plethora of stories that resonate with others who desperately want and deserve to be seen!
