Incidentally, they play the melody of the old French song “Ah! vous dirai-je, Maman,” also known as “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” in English. The melody gained widespread popularity in the late 18th century when Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed a set of twelve variations on it for the piano. The variations were published as Mozart's K. 265 and are commonly known as “Twelve Variations on ‘Ah, vous dirai-je Maman’”.
The instrument swap took place during the Beethovenfest Bonn 2025 on Münsterplatz.
