The bottom brackets need to be installed at 3-4 inches off the floor so this customer had to use spacers in his installation because the bottom brackets had to be installed to his baseboards. He used the spacers for the upper brackets to push them out the same distance as the bottom brackets so the top brackets were plumb/flush with the bottom brackets. Once installed, that gate is extremely safe and keeps his kids and pets safe and contained away from the stairs!
