Remodelaholic | Installing Post Brackets for a Backyard Custom Pergola Over New Concrete Footings @Remodelaholic | Uploaded June 2023 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
Here I am installing post brackets for the backyard pergola on the new footings. I chose to use the Simpson Strong Tie CPT88Z ZMAX Galvanized 8x8 Concealed Post Base.

I wanted to use these brackets and try them out to see if I would want to do more pergolas with them.
I let the concrete cure for a few days before drilling 1/2" holes in them with a impact driver, for the two 6" blots that I used to anchor them down. Here is the link for the bolts: amzn.to/3ITPYN8
After cleaning out the holes with an air compressor and a wire brush, I filled in the hole halfway with a two part epoxy. Here is the link for the epoxy: amzn.to/3qhO5TY
Here is a link for the epoxy dispensing tool: amzn.to/43FWSgV
The epoxy is there to lock in the bolt. Just make sure that you get all the holes ready first before you start using the epoxy. Also if you don't have a strong enough drill to drill in the bolts you will waist a good tube of epoxy because of wasting time trying to borrow a impact driver that is strong enough to drill in the anchor. Just saying! Don't waist your money.
Once those where in it was time to start the fun part of building the pergola.
