I got my new Insta360 ONE X2 360° camera and before I make any public videos with it I wanted to test the various ways to record audio using it. Though I knew that for my intended purposes just using the built-in mics (there are four!) wouldn’t give me the best audio but I wanted to have it as a comparison. Next I did a recording using my Apple AirPods, then used a lav mic plugged directly into the camera using the mic adapter - this is an accessory not included with the camera. Finally, I tried my preferred method: using a wireless lav mic setup. The one I have that works is really meant - and built - for use with a smartphone but it worked and, beside the directly plugged in lav mic, gave me, in my opinion, the best audio quality.
