The northern lights or aurora borealis are spectacularly shown in the this real time video of extremely fast pulsing auroras. The third stage of an auroral substorm often sees the lights pulsing on and off. I have seen this many times but never at these sorts of speeds. It wasn't the highest Kp value I've seen at all, so why was this so special? Answers welcome.
