Dr Hirnaya Peiris of University College London is currently preparing data from ESA's Planck probe for release in 2013. This is the 3rd generation of space based CMB probe after NASA's COBE and WMAP. In this superb lecture she gives a wonderful explanation of the how cosmologists study the CMB using amongst other things analogies from "Star Wars". Dr Peiris was also one of the authors of the paper that described a possible experimental test of the multiverse hypothesis which is also described in the talk. We are aware the audio isn't the best but hope you can still enjoy because this lecture is really worth it. This was our 9th attempt to post it on you tube, it seemed to crash on every previous attempt.
