INS Nipun, India’s indigenously built Diving Support Vessel, is set to strengthen the Indian Navy’s deep-sea operational capabilities. Built by Hindustan Shipyard Limited, the 119-metre vessel is equipped for deep diving, submarine rescue, saturation diving and long-duration underwater operations. It also features remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), a helicopter deck and advanced medical facilities, making it a specialized platform for underwater inspection, maintenance, intervention and rescue missions.
