Quick video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com on modifying simple game characters based on the design created in the prior tutorial. I will be using basic shapes in Inkscape to turn the knight into characters inspired by the Mandalorian.
In this video, I will show you how easy and fast it is to take a design and create a totally new game character from it. The ease with which you can create variations is a strong point of vector graphics. I will continue using only simple shapes like rectangles, circles, and pills. I take existing shapes and arrange, colour, scale, and rotate them to create new and seemingly complex designs - ready to be exported and animated.
Most of the functionality shown in the video can be created with other software tools such as Adobe's Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.

![Affinity Designer Tutorial - masking with compounds and symbols
In this video, I dive a little deeper into using compound groups as masks in Affinity Designer. When I did the overview video of the different masks, I wasnt happy with the solution for the Mask to Below. I decided to add Symbols to the mask to control the mask from the outside... and it worked.
This video covers the creation and a few different examples of what you can easily achieve by adding Symbols to your mask creation process. I had a lot of fun with it!
More examples of masks, clips, and crops can be found in my PDF collection of step-by-step tutorials.

![Inkscape Mini Tutorial - Consistent Gradients on Fills and Strokes
This mini video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com is about gradients across fills and strokes in Inkscape v1.3.
It gets a little tricky when you want a consistent fill across multiple objects [shapes and strokes]. This video shows you how to align multicoloured gradients to fills and strokes by using helper shapes. The gradients match up seamlessly and are quick and easy to edit.
