As a Haslam Family Professor & associate professor of STEM Education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Joshua Rosenberg uses data science principles to improve educational outcomes and teaches students how to analyze and interpret data.
Rosenberg says data science has the potential to transform education as artificial intelligence and computing technologies continue to advance. In partnership with educators across Tennessee, his work aims to empower teachers and students with ways to approach data more meaningfully in terms of probability, evidence, and degrees of confidence.
Looking ahead, Rosenberg plans to explore opportunities for community-engaged data science where Volunteers can get real-world experience in their fields by collaborating with nonprofit, education, and government partners.
