This is a 4KW, 4 pole 3 Phase induction motor being TEST run as a generator with the power being fed through a Solar Inverter back feeding or Net metering to the Grid,
The Induction Motor is wired with a 50Uf capacitor on each leg in Wye configuration for excitation to enable it to become a generator . The output is then rectified from AC to DC through a self made 3 Phase Bridge Rectifier, From there the DC power goes to a 2Kw Solar Inverter and then fed back to the mains for the house with any excess going back to the grid.
THis test was merely to see if he power from an induction motor generator could be conditioned and work with a solar Inverter instead of panels.
The setup was averaging around 1400W @ 385V back to the inverter.
With a larger engine than the 2.2Kw Diesel used in the test, the motor could generate 3Kw. This could be fed back to he mains with a larger inverer or another 2 Kw to share the load.
This setup could be used with an existing solar inverter on Dull days where he panels are generating insufficient power with minimal setup cost.
In the clip the engine is running on both Used Vegetable oil (WVO) and used engine oil ( WMO)
