Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.

Urdu is an Indo-Aryan language primarily spoken in South Asia. It is Pakistan's national language and lingua franca, where it is also an official language alongside English. The Constitution recognizes Urdu in India and has official status in several states. Urdu is a Persianised register of the Hindustani language, sharing much of its vocabulary, phonology, syntax, and grammar with Hindi, making them mutually intelligible in casual conversation. However, as the formality of the language increases, mutual intelligibility decreases due to Urdu drawing formal vocabulary from Persian and Hindi from Sanskrit.

Shina is a Dardic language within the Indo-Aryan family, spoken primarily by the Shina people. In Pakistan, it is the main language of Gilgit-Baltistan, with about 720,200 speakers. Smaller communities of Shina speakers are found in India, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir's Guraiz valley and Ladakh's Dras valley. Like other languages in Pakistan, the Shina language is expanding its vocabulary by incorporating loanwords from dominant languages such as Urdu, Standard Punjabi, and English, as well as from Arabic and Persian due to religious influences.

This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.
