Review – My first impressions of the game were really bad. The first chapter of the game makes you walk painfully slowly throughout the convent area, with the run button disabled. Then I went to my first task which was to go to the well, fill a bucket up with water, then walk back to pour the water in a barrel. This takes loads longer than you would expect, but the game forces you to do it 5 times in a row. It was incredibly boring and I had to turn YouTube on my phone to give me something to look at. This is probably the dullest experience I’ve had in a game and made a for a very bad start. I didn’t know if the whole game was going to entail drudgery like this just to make some kind of point.
Thankfully, I persevered and the game doesn’t do anything like this again.
The rest of the game feels like a cheap Xbox 360 game. Set in an alternate Russia, mainly story related, broken up with puzzles and minigames. There is nothing particularly good, but at least every section is different so even though it’s slow paced, it doesn’t get boring.
The dialogue is interesting but the volume of the speech is all over the place, I’ve never heard anything this bad in a game before.
The game time is around 4-5 hours, which is the reason that I played the game in the first place. It’s not a good game, but it’s not bad and I don’t regret playing it. It’s weird.
One thing of note is that the final achievement doesn’t unlock unless you watch the entire credits. I skipped them as I normally do these days with no idea why I finished the game with only 100 achievement points. It took less than an hour to go back and get the rest though,
