Indiana Theatre is a multi-use performing arts venue in downtown Indianapolis. In 1927, it was a movie palace and ballroom. In 1979, U.S. National Register of Historic Places added it as a landmark.Today it is the home of the Indiana Repertory Theatre. The building is a six stories on a concrete frame. Its white terra cotta facade is a curving triangular arch with churrigueresque framing that fills the central bay above the original marquee installed almost a century ago. Inside, the auditorium features an elaborate plaster ornamentation paying homage to Spanish Baroque style. The uppermost level houses the Indiana Roof Ballroom with an elliptical dome and sky effects. Definitely something to visit when in Indianapolis!
