Find out how Sony Pictures Imageworks used Katana and Nuke to build the visual language of Netflix Animation Studios’ In Your Dreams animation, with fascinating insights from CG Supervisor Bertrand Bry-Marfaing. Directed by Alex Woo, the animated adventure film seamlessly blends the real and dream worlds.

Discover how the team used Katana as a hub for artists working on the In Your Dreams lighting, enabling them to deal with complex geometry, along with the complexity of the sequences. Katana also played a key role in positioning highlights on the characters’ eyes, building the animation in a realistic way to support the storytelling.

You’ll also see how compositing artists used Nuke to craft the distinctive ethereal look of Nightmara, Queen of Nightmares, and also to perfect the look of the film’s anime-style sequences.

In Your Dreams is now available to watch on Netflix.
