Across the country, chess is one of many school activities used to develop strategic thinking, problem-solving and confidence.
This commitment is reflected in Schackfyran – one of the world’s largest school chess competitions. Since 1978, it has brought together fourth-grade classes (10-year-olds) from across Sweden, with a focus on teamwork, participation and inclusion.
