Extracts from a conversation in which Christie Williamson talks to fellow Glasgow-resident Shetlander Chris Stout. Alongside samples of Christie's poetry and a short documentary introduction, this film contributes to a small Shetlandic collection which forms part of an extension series of the Island Voices project, in which its "capture and curation" model is used for more languages in addition to English and Gaelic.

In Part 1 the topics covered include Shetland schooldays and hostel living, ferry journeys to the mainland in student days, and what living in Glasgow is like for Shetlanders.
