Welcome to I’ll Knit (& Spin!) If I want To! I asked y’all to send in some of your questions (from everything from fiber arts, to designing and on!) so I could put together a little video for y’all every Friday doing my best to answer your questions!

In this week’s episode we cover:
1. Hi Andrea, you speak a lot about the knitting (and spinning and sewing) notebooks you keep with all your notes as you develop your designs and knit your garments. By now you must have 10s (if not 100s!) of them. My question is - How do you locate information when you're looking for it? Do you label the covers with years and designs, sort of a table of contents? I try to keep notes but then I can never find them.

2. When knitting socks, sleeves or other smaller circumference items what type of needles do you use? Thank you so much for being you!
3. Hi Andrea! I'm a long time knitter but at the very beginning of my spinning journey (thanks for the inspiration!!) Could you help me choose a type of fiber that is beginner friendly? I don't have much knowledge about how the different breeds of sheep spin up, but I'd like to start with something that will allow me to get the feel of the craft with relatively little frustration. :-) thanks!

4. My daughter requested that I knit her a pink cardigan with red hearts, and I immediately thought of your Bean & Olive pattern, but steeked. I showed my daughter the design and she agreed! It’s knitting up just as I had hoped with the addition of my steek column. I’m curious what you, as the original designer, would recommend for the style of button band? And do you have a favorite cardi button band, in general? Why is that your preference? Structure, aesthetic, or something else?
5. This question is prompted by my hope of running into you at Rhinebeck. You are very well-known in the knitting community, and I'm sure many people recognize you and want to say hello when they see you at festivals. Those of us who watch your podcast every week feel like we know you, yet we are complete strangers to you. You've also said that you are an introvert. So, what do you want us to know to respect your boundaries if we see you at a festival? For example, what are your opinions on hugs? Selfies? Length of conversations? Off-limits topics? Things you love to hear about from folks who knit your patterns? Anything else we should know?
