Welcome to I’ll Knit (& Spin!) If I want To! I asked y’all to send in some of your questions (from everything from fiber arts, to designing and on!) so I could put together a little video for y’all every Friday doing my best to answer your questions!

In this week’s episode we cover:
1. Hi Andrea! I have a question about sleeves. I've have knitted some sweater by now and one thing that I needed to adjust in all of them, were the sleeves. Usually I need to knit another 4 to 5 cm (+/- 2 inch) after the pattern says to stop. Now that I know this, I was wondering if it I should change the decrease rate to evenly spread the decreases on my longer sleeves. The reason why I'm in doubt is that most pattern suggest to add length at the end. What is your looking on this? Is there a reason for not changing the decrease rate? Thank you in advance!
2. Hello, Andrea! I have recently been given several kilograms of wool from my uncle's farm, most of it was handspun by my late grandmother. The yarn is currently in the largest skeins I've ever seen, weighting about half a kilo each, and it still has lanolin in it. I have no idea, which breed of sheep the wool is from or how grandma spun from a technical perspective. . Although I assume she was used to spinning fairly tightly for knitting things like bavarian-style socks, these are her later works from when age was catching up on her and according to the family, they are thicker than her usual yarn was. How can I determine what weight this yarn is? Going by eyesight I'd estimate it could be anything from sport to a worsted weight. As it hasn't been washed yet, it might be on the heavier side. Best regards, Ana
3. I have been knitting for a while and am now ready to knit my first sweater... Which of your sweater patterns would you suggest for a first sweater? Love your patterns and your videos..

4. So I have made both the tessellated vest and the pink velvet sweater both with the original kits when you released them. When I blocked these knits they grew so much - I must have over stretched- and now I’m wondering if there is anyway to shrink them. I know pink velvet has qing fiber and it’s a single ply but I think the tessellated fdf/spin was a multi ply. Help!
5 .IHiya, so I have a bunch of skeins of Spincycle DITW that I've bought at different times. I wouldn't say they really 'match' each other (lots of very different colourways)... I'd like to knit the Shifty jumper and use some of these up. If I bought a calm colourway for the MC (like the grumpy birds you used in the original) then do you think it would work to use three other colours that are a bit hotch potch?! Or is it advised to carefully choose each colourway to match / compliment the others? Thank you :) xxx
