As a 2008 summer research fellow, Sunil worked on thin film solar cells with mechanical engineering Professor W. Sampath in and his research team. This experience increased his interest in "green energy", and he plans to continue with his research and develop solar-powered vehicles once he graduates from the Indian Institute of Technology. Sunil said this was the best internship
experience he has had; he was inspired by Prof. Sampath and the students who collaborate on this project.

$CSU Mechanical Engineers Manufacture Carbon Fiber Composites at a Fraction of Time and Cost A finalist in the 3D Pioneers Challenge, Colorado State University mechanical engineering Assistant Professor Mostafa Yourdkhani and his team have developed novel techniques to digitally manufacture carbon fiber composites. Their techniques allow them to manufacture composites at a fraction of time and cost compared to state-of-the-art methods.
