A finalist in the 3D Pioneers Challenge, Colorado State University mechanical engineering Assistant Professor Mostafa Yourdkhani and his team have developed novel techniques to digitally manufacture carbon fiber composites. Their techniques allow them to manufacture composites at a fraction of time and cost compared to state-of-the-art methods. This substantially reduces the manufacturing energy and carbon footprint.
