If your baby is taking 30-minute naps all day long, you might have a chronic cat napper on your hands. 😴

But before you assume your baby “just isn’t a good napper,” check these 3 things:

1️⃣ Sleep environment
Is the room dark, cool, and free from distractions? A solid nap-friendly environment can make a BIG difference.

2️⃣ Wake windows
Are you putting your baby down too early… or too late? The right amount of awake time helps build enough sleep pressure for a restorative nap.

3️⃣ Independent sleep
If your baby needs the same help to fall back asleep that they needed at bedtime, they may struggle to connect sleep cycles during naps.

And remember: short naps aren’t always a problem. Developmental stage, age, and schedule all matter.

But if your baby is consistently waking after one sleep cycle and never seems to get a restorative nap, it’s worth looking at the bigger picture.
