Alizarin Crimson is a primary red with a bluish undertone present in any basic watercolor palette. Not only it's a beautiful color when used by its own, but its perfect to tone down greens, mix great darks and purples, and add some drama to your skies.
However, Alizarin Crimson has a problem: it's fugitive.
Today we are looking for a lighfast replacement and we are swatching watercolor paint from Schminke, Winsor & Newton, Cotman, Paul Rubens, Rembrandt, Lukas, Rosa Gallery and A.Gallo.
Who will be the winner?
It really depends from your taste, availability in your country and your budget!
