Officials and eyewitnesses are reporting Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity in communities across Connecticut, including Danbury, Stamford and Bridgeport.

Connecticut Students for a Dream says its network received first-hand eyewitness reports of at least 21 people being detained, including 16 in Danbury, four in Stamford and one in Bridgeport. NBC Connecticut has reached out to ICE to confirm those numbers but has not received a response.

Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves says he is angry and deeply concerned about the reported arrests and detentions and is urging residents to know their legal rights. Protesters also gathered outside Danbury Superior Court amid reports of increased federal agent activity in the city.
