Iām still floating. Tuesday morning, Iām half-asleep checking my phoneā¦and there it wasā¦a message from Lion Babe saying I was a winner. I legit flew out the bed dancing. Room to room, smiling like I was in my 20s again at the Double Door in Wicker Park, working the bar, soaking up original live music, and dancing every chance I got. Pure joy!
In my submission, I told them exactly how I feel -
I respect Jillian so much because sheās not trying to be BeyoncĆ© or any other mainstream artistā¦and yāall know I LOVE me some BeyoncĆ©. But Jillian is her own artist - original, bold, and completely comfortable in her creative skin. It shines through every time she sings.
And Astro Raw? Astro takes me straight back to Chicago Houseā¦spiritual, soulful, rhythmic, and good. The kind of sound that doesnāt just make you danceā¦it moves through you.
