Join me as I jump into the world of timber framing! I'm completely new to this craft, so I decided to start with the easiest project I could think of.
I attempt to cut a massive through tenon joint—one of the oldest and strongest joints in woodworking—out of some big pieces of douglas fur. Spoiler alert: I'm learning, I'm using the wrong tools, and things definitely don't go according to plan! Watch how I pivot, how I manage to get that massive joint seated (maybe a little too well!), and how I eventually get it set in concrete.
