A few days ago, I decided to try something new in the garden - a mealworm feeder for the birds. I was hoping to attract a variety of visitors like Robins, Blue Tits, Great Tits, and maybe even a Woodpecker if I was lucky.
But the local Western Jackdaws discovered it first and everything changed. What started with a single curious bird quickly turned into a gathering of Jackdaws emptying the feeder far faster than expected. The smaller birds did eventually get their turn, cleaning up after the Jackdaws had left.
