When a Common Wood Pigeon visits my garden it will usually drive other bird species away from food in the feeders or on the ground. Other Wood Pigeons are also likely to be chased away.
However, in the days following the recent snowfall, the Wood Pigeons seem to have become much more tolerant of other bird species and of each other. They are now feeding in close proximity with other birds without any attempt to chase them away. This is really unusual behaviour for the local Wood Pigeons. I've no idea why the Wood Pigeons are being more tolerant or whether it will last but I'll keep you posted on developments.
