I Want to Fly RC Airplanes Where Do I Start?
In this video I will go over what you should do to successfully enter the RC hobby and start flying RC model aircraft. In short, to answer the question I want to fly RC airplanes, where do I start?
I have over 50 years of flying RC model aircraft. There have been significant changes over the past 10-15 years, to include the widespread use of brushless electric motors, lipo batteries and 2.4 GHz radio technology.
I will go over all of these items, to include joining the Academy of Model Aeronautics, finding an RC club, linking up with an instructor, use of professional RC flight schools and use of computer based RC flight simulators.
This video was filmed in April 2022. This is the "Golden Age" of RC model flight. RC hardware has never been as inexpensive and high quality as it is now, there are a wide range of quality kits and ready to fly RC models, and the use of the internet can answer just about any question you may have on the hobby.
