this is a video where I talk about the recent podcast MASTER: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman, Andrea Skinner's recent article about her mother Alice Munro, and the different ways the victims in both of these cases are being treated as a result of how they're treated in the media sharing their story.

I believe Neil Gaiman's victims. I think harassing Amanda Palmer on their behalf is misguided. I think distrusting Rachel Johnson is fair, but I think we can do that without disregarding the victims allegations.

Also sorry I crossed wires, Skinner's biological father owned the bookstore and not her stepfather/abuser. I also said we don't hear Amanda's response to the text messages and that was fully a failure of my own note taking -- Amanda responded something to the effect of "this entire situation is so fucked."

This video was made before any additional complaints were brought forward-- there have been more allegations made against Neil by additional women in podcast episodes both from Tortoise and from another publisher. Those episodes didn't exist yet when I filmed/scripted/posted this. I'm planning on following up, but I'm not sure when I will.

(Also I just don't think it's misogynistic to refer to Rachel Johnson as Boris Johnson's sister. You're telling me if Donald Trump's sister was a journalist and she never disagreed with his politics and also thought Ghislane Maxwell was an empathetic figure you would call me sexist for saying "It's fair not to trust Donald Trump's sister?" probably not. I said that because Boris Johnson is a more familiar name than Rachel Johnson is to someone not in a country like me where they're not exactly household names.)
