This is a video about Elizabeth, tiktok’s Crying Birthday Cupcake Mom who was exposed by her former husband. Of course the internet hates women and nothing is as it seems, and this was a huge DARVO campaign, but that’s not how I’m worried this will be remembered. I wanted to make a video before the unnuanced version of this becomes common knowledge about this woman, who I am very concerned about. Think of it as an emergency nuance corner meeting. Emma Approved was an Emmy award winning adaptation of Jane Austens novel Emma. Though it was a highly anticipated follow-up to Pemberly Digitals first series, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, I thought at the time and again as an adult that it lacked a lot of the magic the first adaptation had. That assessment is even more stark when you add in another adaptation. In this video I compare Emma Approved to 1995s Clueless, a movie I have infinitely more to say about than I got around to in this video, and I take a lot less time to do it than I did about Lizzie Bennet.
