I used to think spirit week was a waste of time. I was too busy, too tired, and didn’t see how dressing like a fool helped with classroom management.
But over the years, I’ve realized that joining in on those moments — spirit week, Halloween, college day, whatever your school does — builds connection, community, and memories that last long after the lessons fade.
Whether your staff goes all out or you’re the only one showing up in costume, do it anyway. It matters more than you think.
