Hat to Hem | I Used the Original Pattern to Make Samantha’s Birthday Dress! | Peppermint Dress and Lacy Pinafore @HattoHem | Uploaded June 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
When I was a little girl, I spent hours pouring over the American Girl Collection catalog from Pleasant Company. I loved to study the outfits and compare the differences between time periods. The playset I spent the most time staring at was the two-page spread of Samantha's Birthday. It was the most elegant thing I had ever seen. Every detail was so beautiful. It was so beautiful that I never even thought to ask for it because I thought it was too special to own. When I realized how easy it would be to make my own version of Samantha Parkington's Peppermint Birthday Dress, Lacy Pinafore, and rosebud circlet, how could I not try to make it?
Though this is family-friendly content, this is first and foremost a sewing video, not a video made specifically for children.
