Ever wondered what happens when you treat a massive gel plate like a traditional canvas? In this creative adventure, I’m doing my BIGGEST gel plate print pull ever on 300gsm watercolour paper. We’re moving beyond simple textures and exploring "gel plate painting"—using brushes, MEEDEN paints, and fluid acrylics to create a painterly masterpiece.
Watch as I experiment with:
- Treating the gel plate as a painting surface 🖌️
- Testing different papers (Koso Studio, Chinese paper, and Strathmore Watercolour paper)
- Layering iridescent bronze and fluid acrylics for depth.
- Pulling the largest print I’ve ever made (and seeing if the paper buckles!)
