Today I’m experimenting with three unusual textures on my giant gel plate, pushing the process in a new direction to see what happens when different materials collide.
This print is all about layers, texture, and discovery. I build the surface gradually, combining mark-making, stencils, organic textures, and unexpected materials to create depth and movement across the plate. Each layer adds something new, creating a rich tapestry of colour and texture that continues to evolve right up until the final pull.
What I love most about working on a giant gel plate is the freedom to experiment. Some days the process feels planned, and other days it becomes a journey of discovery. This was definitely one of those days.
