In today’s video, I’m pulling out some of my beautiful dissolved National Geographic pages and creating a full collage directly on the gel plate. This is one of my favourite experimental processes—it’s spontaneous, textured, and full of unexpected beauty. I start with a bold foundation using my newly released large 'Dance Moves' stencils, spraying through them with antique gold acrylic spray to create that rich, metallic detail on the plate. Then I layer in smaller handmade papers along with the dramatic, dreamy textures of the Nat Geo pages, building a surface that’s full of movement and depth.
Once the collage layers are in place, I seal everything with a coat of gloss gel medium and pull the print using wet strength tissue—capturing all those elements in one single, satisfying pull. And of course, I couldn’t stop at just one. The second print turned out even better than the first—rich, detailed, and full of layered magic.
