I sometimes wonder why I climb mountains (especially in condition like today!). I don't get the same urge to wake in the middle of the night to go to the Gym or any other exercise for that matter. I look at what science says on why I drove miles the night before to a freezing snow car par, then got up before the birds to head out up a hill in type II conditions !!
In this video, I head into the mountains to explore what’s actually happening to your brain and body during a hike. From the first few steps to the final push to the summit, science shows that every stage of the climb is changing you—physically and mentally. Some interesting science I discovered .....
This is also a good example on why I dont pack away my winter gear until May is out (Ne'er cast a clout till May be oot" - or something along those lines!!). Cramps and axe packed as well as all the winter gear which was required. Stay safe out there
