This weeks video is based of a 1950's recipe from an advertisement for BIRDS Baking Powder. I had such a fun time making this delicious cake! Let me know if you give it a try or if you have tried other 1950's recipes.

Lemon Fairy Cake Recipe
227g flour
113g margarine
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs (room temperature)
113g sugar
1 lemon rind (grated)
A little milk to mix
Method
Cream fat and sugar.
Add very well beaten eggs and grated lemon.
Sift flour and baking powder and fold into the mixture.
Bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour. (190*C / 375*F)
Icing
Cream 56 g of margarine, add 113 g of sieved icing sugar and beat with a wooden spoon until smooth and creamy. Stir in a few drops of vanilla essence and add coloring if desired.
